My Traumatic Day!

Hey Internet!

I thought that my life was pretty interesting today..well traumatic that is...STORY TIME!!

Well, me and my friend were walking back to outside the school's library when suddenly ... the worst happens.

A FREAKING HUGE daddy long-legs decides to take refuge on my chest!!

So i'm just froze, standing there like a lemon like I've just been shot and I don't know what to, while my friend is just wetting herself laughing on the grass! So in my moment of terror, my grand idea was ....(wait for it).... to do a Irish jig in a circle in an attempt the fling it off.

And thank god it did, but little did I know ... a teacher was right behind me... Yep!

This pretty much proves my theory that with the amount I've killed in my house they're slowly but surely all joining a cult and planning to smother me in my sleep...*shiver*

So hopefully you'll empathize with me! Haha

And while I'm at it! Over 1000 views now! Thank you so much guys for reading and sharing and liking my blog! I appreciate it a tonne! Also thanks to some of my friends (Matt and Gemma!) for 'advertising' my blog too :P
Thank youuuuuuu!!!

Remember When It Rained #1

Hello Internet!

Yes, I have written a story! It is based around one of my all time favourite song, sung by my all time favourite singer! It will come in chapters every few days to keep checking to be kept in the loop! Hope you like it :D

© Chapter 1:
 Dear Grace,
Do you remember when…

*Sigh* “No, I can’t write that” I looked out of the window opposite me, leaning back in my chair hoping that some inspiration would come to me as fast as the rain was coming down outside. It was one of those typical, dreary days that England has to offer, and to be honest it wasn’t doing me any good.

“Josh are you still working on that letter? You’ve been at it for hours. Come and take a break, I’ll grab you a beer”

“I need to get this finished Matt, it’s been almost 9 years since we last talked…I just need to know she’s okay”

At that moment Matt gave me a suspicious look, “So you wanna know if she’s okay do you?” I gave him a glare, so he went and sprawled out on the sofa, getting the hint that I wasn’t in the jokey mood I’m usually in.

Grace and I had been friends ever since we were kids, both our mothers called us inseparable but we preferred to think of ourselves as partners in crime…of the cookie jar that is. We used to meet up all the time, rain or shine. As long as we were together nothing else mattered. We often snuck down to the beach and met next to the old shack right by the shore in the evenings or early in the mornings, to scavenge for crab and lobster shells for fun. Grace always came prepared with her wicker flower basket she got for her 6th birthday, whereas the only thing I brought was my rain coat. Once we’d had enough of rummaging our hands through the sand and shingle, we would bury ourselves in the seaweed that covered the far part of the beach. We’d gather bucket loads (or basket loads) of it and pile it up into a huge mound and pretend it was a raging sea monster of the high seas! Grace would then pretend to be the damsel in distress and I, her knight in shining armour.

But these antics were often short lived as we had to race back to our homes before any one realised we were gone, leaving the salty mound of sea weed to be destroyed by the incoming wind and waves.

But when Grace was 10 her parent’s died in a car accident in Wales…she was devastated, we barely talked after this happened. I used to go down to beach, just in front of the old shack, by myself in the evenings watching the waves as they broke against the rocks, hoping that she would come down and meet me there once again. It must have done this for around 3 weeks when I finally noticed her slowly walking down towards me. Without her basket. She sat me down and began to cry, her hair was plastered to her face from the salty spray. She explained that because she had no one here anymore, she had to go and live with her Grandmother in America. Everything seemed to slow down when she told me this, I just couldn’t believe it. The thought of never being able to see her again seemed to rip me apart. After an hour of sitting in silence, we both parted and went our own ways back to our homes, not worried of the thought of our carers giving us hell when we got back.

The next day a letter came for me, my mother gave it to me with a sympathetic grin, “Grace dropped this round earlier while you were sleeping…I didn’t want to wake you.” I took it and ran up to my bedroom, unsuccessfully attempting to keep in the flood of tears that had been bursting to get out since my mother gave me the envelope. It was red and pristine, not a crease or an ink slodge in sight, and on the front was just my name. Josh.

Josh,
I’m really going to miss you, there won’t be a day that goes by when I’ll stop thinking about you. I had to drop this letter round this morning because by the time you’re reading this I’ll probably already be on the plane, I really did want to give it to you in person but your mum said that you were sleeping, and I didn’t think it was fair to wake you just for a letter…
Anyhow, this is my Grandmother’s address. If you want to, we can keep in touch by letters, gran says it’s too expensive to ring every day so this is the only alternative. I’m really sorry, maybe when we’re older we can meet up again?
Goodbye,
Love Grace x

By the time I’d read the letter the tears I had been fighting back were streaming down my face.
I can’t really remember the rest of that day, all it seems to me now is a blur. But I do remember me and Grace exchanging letters, this happened for a year or so before us both forgot about each other as we ventured off to college. A chance to finally start our lives as our own. But unfortunately for me I had some…concentration issues. All I could think about was Grace.

Because of this, my grades hit rock bottom and I dropped out college. That’s why I’m here now I guess. 23 years old, no job, no girlfriend and living with a roommate that cares more about his beer than the rent…

Get To Know Me!

Hello Internet!

Well, I've been posting for you guys a while now and I figured that you should get to know me as I will hopefully be your blogger for the foreseeable future! ;) Haha

There are basically - things you need to know about me:

1) I loooove food!
2) I am a loud and proud Grobanite!
3) I love to bake cakes!
4) My whole world literally revolves around music!
5) And i hate revising -_-
6) Watch out, there's a Whovian about!

So! Yes I love food, if I could I would marry food! My favourites have got to be curries and Galaxy chocolate *casually daydreams about eating* ... mmmmm...
This is also the reason why I will never have a nice body at any summer time...I just love food too much! :') The flavours, the textures, the hotness, the mildness...the smell and crunchiness of freshly baked bread....(focus Megan!)

I've loved to bake for years too! Cakes are my best, at school me and my sisters used to bake them aaaall the time for teachers and friends. Chocolate brownie...yummmm *casually daydreams about eating*...

I listen to music everyday, without doubt. I've taken music for one of my GCSEs (which is kinda like a baby qualification :P). I basically live in the music department at school as I used to have a form there, I have so many clubs there, my classes are there, and basically because it's always either so peaceful, or full of music! And both are gorgeous situations!

See the AWESOMENESS!
And before you judge, Josh Groban is the best singer in the world!! He is my idol, I have almost all his CDs, he is the funniest guy on the planet! And I just LOVE him!! If you haven't checked him out yet then you should! :P His voice just makes you melt! And my life goal is to and see him in concert with VIP tickets when he is next in England..if all else fails I will swim to America! :D

Yes, like all teenagers I hate to revise when I could be trawling the internet for useless knowledge that I keep saying to myself is worth adding another tab to the all ready 5 million and counting all ready on my browser...
My GCSEs are coming up too, so this probably isn't the best thing to be saying, but hey ho! I'm trying my best to get my head down! Hehe.

And last but not least, I am a fully functioning officially obsessed Whovian! Me and my mate Matt, do tend to fangirl (and fanboy ;) ) About it, and casually break our keyboards as we frantically message each other about how many days left util the 50th Anniversary...48 days if any of you interneters were curious ;)

So yeah! That's me! Thanks for reading!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I love food,
And so should you!!

Just A Little Note...With A Surprise!

Hello Internet! Just a reminder that you can follow me on Google+ and Tumblr (nutmeg998) to be kept updated on what I do, for a tonne of more new and exciting stories, topics and maybe a bit of fangirling too! :P (Ooh! That rhymes!)
...

Also...I'm already at 400 views and it's not even been a week! Wow! So thank you guys so, so much for helping me get this off the ground, and hopefully you'll support me through the future as well! :D Don't forget to comment on what you want me to cover! And I'll do my best!

...

On another note ('scuse the pun for what follows), if anyone of you who are reading my blog are interested in singing, then in Broomfield in the UK there's a new choir! Which I happen to be part of! (Maybe I'll see you there? Who knows!). You can more information about the choir in the link to our website below.

We sing a tonne of awesome stuff from gospel, aaaaaallllll way over to pop as well, so there's a song to suit everyone! We also enter competitions up to national standard that you can be part of! All of the people there are really friendly and we fully welcome new people, whenever they choose to join. It's for girls between 11 and 18 and if you are close to us and want to see what goes on, on the next rehearsal (which are listed on the website) you can come and watch to see what goes on. And if you're interested? Great! But if you're not? That's okay too. You don't have to be a master at music either all abilities are welcome as long as they want to sing their hearts out! :)

If you can't be arco to sit at home at the weekends...
Come to choir! Where everyone's as upbeat as the expressions on the score!! :P

Making Your Ideas Come To Life - Since 200 BC

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of councilors, and he most patient of teachers." - Charles W. Eliot

Writing a book can be difficult and time consuming, but when you have those creative juices flowing wonders can appear right in front of you! Sometimes to get going some people just need a little nudge in the right direction, and that's what I'm here for! I'm going to become the agony aunt of stories no matter how long, short, silly, funny, sad or serious they may be.

Here are some of the basic pointers --->

1) Have a good, solid plot-line brewing somewhere.

It doesn't matter if it's the start or the end of your story, just as long as it's something you can expand on. When you're writing you may choose to put different events at different points anyway.
If you're struggling for a good plot line there's inspiration everywhere! You could even base yours around a piece of music or an event that happened to you or someone you know.

2) Read, read, read!

Reading books is the most important thing if you want to become a successful writer. It can not only give you inspiration but it can help with your own english skills too!

3) Always include more.

Readers are always expecting more! Go beyond the common 5 senses! People love writers who take into account the weight of a new jacket or the fresh oil left on the tracks once a vintage train has passed. Simple add-ins like these can set the scene of you story that much more interesting.

4) Play with the readers emotions.

Make them laugh or make them cry, use objects in certain situations to make people feel something.
For example, put together a child and homelessness and BAM! You've got women all over the world giving in to their motherly instincts.

5) Take your tiiiiiiiime.

This is probably the most important thing to do. You don't want to rush your masterpiece after all do you? Taking your time can give you the chance to check for mistakes and grammatical errors. Also, if your are running out of ideas taking a break is actually the best thing to do! It can give you time to rethink and give your brain a chance to relax before creates magical scenarios for you to create!

If you take all of these into consideration, then who knows! You could become the next J.K Rowling or Charles Dickens...

"Books are uniquely portable magic." - Stephen King
(And this is really the case for Harry Potter!)

"We forget why we have entered a room because passing through doors creates an 'event boundary'  causing our brain to file away what we were just thinking about"

...
There must be a hell of a lot of doors where I am!

Awkward Moment #1

Basically all of my friends have Boyfriends or Girlfriends e.t.c (are there anymore?!)

And I have fully accepted my fate of being forever alone, so usually their response is...

"Awww, don't say that! You'll find Mr Right someday :3"
Or Alternatively...
"Hey..Shrek wants his face back!"

"Mr Right". Pah! My Mr Right is sitting in the fridge and his name is Galaxy! ^_^

Am I the only one who does this? Comment below and tell me what you think! Is your current boyfriend food? Do you like to cuddle up with a big bar of Galaxy and put on all those calories you never lost? (because I do!). Keep checking up on my blog too! I'll be putting up daily bits and bobs for all you interneters to read! :D

My friend Matt also has a blog that you should check out as well!

It's called Blogs And All Things Nice and he has a tonne of awesome stuff on there, he's also a Whovian like I. So if you like geeks and awesomeness and awesomeness and stories and everything awesome! Then head over there now!! :P

Piggy and Proud!
Geeky and Gorgeous!
